Terms of Use
1. About these terms
Dijioma ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Good Digital Living Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 15824129), whose registered address is 8 Genister Place, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, NE4 9TJ, United Kingdom. By accessing or using dijioma.com and its related services (the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Who can use Dijioma
You may use the Platform if you are 16 years of age or older. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian is aware of and consents to your use. The Platform is designed for members of the Igbo community — including elders, youth, and the diaspora — but is open to anyone who shares our purpose.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information when you register (name, and an email address or phone number).
- You must notify us promptly at hello@dijioma.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.
4. Acceptable use
When using Dijioma, you agree not to:
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes anyone's rights;
- Misrepresent cultural material in a way intended to deceive or demean;
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Platform;
- Use the Platform to send spam, scams, or fraudulent messages — the very harms Dijioma exists to prevent;
- Collect or harvest other users' personal information;
- Use the Platform for any commercial purpose without our written permission.
5. Content you contribute
Dijioma invites you to contribute cultural knowledge — proverbs, stories, language, and wisdom. When you submit content:
- You confirm you have the right to share it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights;
- You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, and share that content on the Platform for the purpose of cultural preservation and education, with attribution to you where appropriate;
- You understand that contributions may be reviewed before appearing publicly, and we may decline or remove content at our discretion;
- You retain ownership of what you contribute. This licence continues for content that remains part of the cultural archive even if you later close your account, so the heritage remains preserved — you may request removal of specific contributions by contacting us.
6. Digital safety guidance — important notice
Dijioma provides educational content about online safety, scams, and digital skills. This guidance is offered in good faith and for general educational purposes only. It does not constitute professional security, financial, or legal advice. We cannot guarantee that following our guidance will prevent any particular scam, fraud, or security incident. Always exercise your own judgement, and consult your bank, the police, or a qualified professional in serious situations. In the UK, report fraud to Action Fraud (actionfraud.police.uk).
7. Our intellectual property
The Dijioma name, logo, design, written lessons, flashcards, and software are owned by Good Digital Living Limited and protected by law. You may use the Platform for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You may not copy, redistribute, or resell our materials without written permission. Community-contributed cultural content remains subject to Section 5.
8. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms or use the Platform in a way that harms other users or us. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@dijioma.com or through your profile settings.
9. Liability
The Platform is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the Platform, including any loss resulting from reliance on educational content, service interruptions, or the actions of other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England & Wales.
10. Changes & contact
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified on this page with a new "last updated" date. Questions? Contact us at hello@dijioma.com or write to Good Digital Living Limited, 8 Genister Place, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, NE4 9TJ, United Kingdom.
